Description: | Come out to the West Woods and experience the sounds of summer and autumn in the midst of winter. Join GPD volunteer naturalist and Cleveland Institute of Music professor Dr. Lisa Rainsong as she describes how she learned to identify all the crickets and katydids she hears and how she pursues her research on their current ranges. There are many more species of crickets and katydids in Geauga County than most people realize, yet detailed documentation is sparse and range maps are incomplete. She will share some of her intriguing discoveries and her approach to conservation education through insect song. |
