Description: Visit Geauga Park District’s sugar house, sugar bush and lodge at Swine Creek Reservation for a walk through time and a sweet taste of how the maple sugaring industry has evolved from the Native American tradition to modern methods. Help gather sap in the sugar bush with the help of a horse-drawn sap sled, enjoy historical interactions with costumed interpreters, see sap boiling in the sugar house, have a taste of maple syrup, then warm up with live music and maple treats in the lodge. Saps’-A-Risin’ is also held March 22. CONNECT: This program features the Geauga tradition of maple sugaring!
