Description: Become a "citizen scientist" for a day to promote good stewardship, help biologists in the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Department with their research projects, and receive a free milkweed plant. Projects are as follows: gathering important data on the West Virginia White Butterfly, a declining species that mainly flies in April, or participating in a stream survey of Swine Creek. Also kick off the day with an informative talk and learn how to properly plant a tree and monitor a bluebird box. Noon - "NRM: What We Do" Presentation 1 PM - Tree Planting Demo/Giveaway 1:30 PM - How to Monitor Your Bluebird Box 2 PM - Survey: West Virginia White Butterfly -or- Swine Creek Stream Noon to 4 PM - Milkweed Giveaway CONNECT with Conservation in April in honor of Earth Day! This program will inspire you to care for Mother Earth all year long.
