Description: Enjoy the beauty of this ancient glacial lake as we paddle along its peaceful shores in your canoe or one of ours, completely free. We expect the sunset to create a perfect backdrop for exciting wildlife sightings, possibly including the Bald Eagle and Great Blue Heron. Then we’ll all cozy up around the warm mid-September fire to share discoveries and enjoy a fire-cooked snack…and yes, that snack will be a toasty, gooey s’more. Basic canoeing skills and life vests required. Registration required by phone; begins September 11. Canoes available or bring your own. Held rain or shine except in thunderstorm. Ages 10+ w/adult only; one 10-12 year old in middle. Please notify the Park District if you must cancel for the sake of people on waiting list. Wear shoes to get wet or muddy. Bring drinking water and change of clothes just in case the canoe overturns.
