Description: | Take a "sneak peak" tour of the Nassau Observing Station! Learn about the 20th-century history of this research observatory, and get a glimpse of the restoration efforts to re-open Nassau observatory to the public. We'll meet at the McCullough Science Center building, and staff will shuttle visitors to the Nassau building in groups of 12. Due to space limitations, participation is limited to 48 people per session, so reserve your spot soon! |
Accessibility: | Partially Wheelchair / Stroller Accessible The Nassau Observing Station is still under restoration, and is not yet fully accessible. The ground floor (including the former laboratory and living space) is partially wheelchair/stroller accessible. However, the observing floor/telescope can currently only be accessed via a steep staircase. (Restoration plans include the addition of an elevator to make the observatory fully accessible, but accessibility measures have not yet been installed.) |
