Boating Permits

To reserve a boat permit for Bass Lake Preserve, please click on the date you wish to reserve at right, then follow the prompts.

Because only 10 permits a day are issued, these calendars can also be used to see how many permits are available each day.

Boaters are limited to three outstanding permits at one time.

If you have one, your Ohio boat registration number will also be needed to complete this process.

Please note that shoreline fishing is not permitted at Bass Lake Preserve. Canoeing, kayaking and boats with electric motors ARE permitted, but gasoline motors/boats ARE NOT permitted and may not be affixed to the boat, even if not used. (Shoreline fishing is available at other parks, however. For more information, visit our Fishing page under Activities above.)

Ice fishing is permitted in Geauga Park District, but lakes and waterways are not monitored for sufficient freezing for safe access, and fishing on the ice is done at your own risk. Those who wish to fish on the ice must still reserve a boat permit here; it will serve as your parking permit and must be visible on your vehicle's dashboard while you fish.
