| Description: | NEW in 2023: Hike the Seasons! To complete this year’s series, hike a minimum of 4 trails each season from that season’s list which was created by Geauga Park District Naturalists. Attending a naturalist-led hike? Count it as one of your trails. Don’t see YOUR favorite trail? Add it to your list. Hike a total of 16 trails over 4 seasons by 12-21-23 to earn your commemorative sticker for the year (and your trekking pole if you are a first-time finisher.) Interested in hiking more? You may still hike 60 self-guided miles to complete the Geauga Gems Trekking Series and earn your rewards. Upon registration for the series, you’ll receive an email with a link to a printable Geauga Gems Trekking Card to track your progress. You may also pick up a card at The West Woods Nature Center or Big Creek Park's Meyer Center. Throughout the year, keep your card with you to mark your trails. Submit your completed hiking card whenever you finish to The West Woods Nature center. Awards will be available starting November 1. All hiking cards must be submitted no later than 12-31-23. NOTE: REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPATING. For more information, please select Hiking under Activities above. See you on the trails! |
