Description: |
Dress for the weather and celebrate the longest night of the year on this popular evening walk by candlelight. Explore roots of our modern holiday celebrations outdoors; enjoy hot beverages and the Pilgrim Brass Choir indoors.
Primarily outdoors, so dress warm! Wait time to go out on trail will be 15 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the group. Participants will be split into smaller groups and taken out onto the trail by volunteers. Program begins with an introduction indoors with hot cider and music by the Pilgrim Brass Choir and sing-along opportunities. Then there will be several stops laid out along a walkway, each highlighting a different civilization in time and how the winter solstice was culturally observed. Many of the stops are interactive. |
