Age Range: youth entering grades 8-10
Description: Learn outdoor navigation and survival skills in this day-long camp. We'll learn how to "stay found," navigate with a map and compass, plan off-trail routes and more! Dress appropriately for the weather. Waivers and other details will be sent when registration is complete. Camp waiver required for each participant. Participants will bring lunch, water, raincoat, and a sense of adventure in a backpack for day's activities. Equipment use is included in registration fee. Scholarship sources are available. This camp will involve strenuous, off-trail hiking at Big Creek Park in Chardon. The "classroom" portion, involving practice with map, compass, and GPS units is accessible. Please let us know of your accessibility needs, and we'll do our best to accommodate your camper in our activities!
