Description: Calling all bird enthusiasts: a 24-hour birding marathon awaits you! The Chagrin River Bird Quest Birding Challenge takes place Friday to Saturday, September 11 to 12, and Geauga Park District is encouraging area residents to assemble a team and join in on the outdoor fun. Due to the coronavirus, this year’s event looks and feels a little different, but it will still include food, prizes and fun. To start, assemble a team and get yourselves registered at https://clevelandaudubon.org/?page_id=4455. Drive-through team check-in will take place Friday, September 11, between 4 and 6 p.m. at The West Woods Nature Center DEER RUN SHELTER. Here you’ll get free maps, checklists, T-shirts and a Subway gift card for lunch! You’ll spend the next 24 hours birding. For challenge rules, visit www.clevelandaudubon.org. Then on Saturday, September 12, turn in your checklist for judging by 4 p.m. (instructions will be provided at check-in) and plan to “attend” the Quest Celebration at 7 p.m. virtually on Zoom! An email about how to join will be emailed to you upon registration. “As always, we will have an evening of awards, prizes and good times,” Cleveland Audubon promises. We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments together!
