Description: PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. Bring a tent and spend the night enjoying the Perseid Meteor Shower and the night-flying moths attracted by our black light and mercury vapor lamps! Best meteor viewing 1-3 AM. Naturalist on site from sunset to sunrise. Whatever the weather, interact with moths and other nocturnal insects as you help sample and survey onsite wildlife. CAMPING GUIDELINES: We hope you enjoy this once-a-year opportunity to pitch your tent at Observatory Park! TENTS ONLY may be SET UP AUGUST 12 AFTER 4 PM & REMOVED BY AUGUST 13 AT 9 AM. Thank you for understanding that no campers, trailers or generators will be permitted. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, GRILLS OR OPEN FIRES. Pets must be leashed at all times. Geauga County registration begins June 20; out-of-county registration begins June 27. Cancelled in case of inclement weather. All participants must be registered; you may register up to 6 people per reservation. People may begin arriving at 4 PM and must show registration receipt prior to entering the park. Only those registered will be permitted entry to the event. Registration required.
