| Description: | Take a strenuous off-trail hike into a rocky woodland ravine to discover deep rock ledges, cool streams, salamanders and other unique features. Participants must be able to hike two miles without assistance off-trail in rugged terrain including slippery stream bottoms, steep grades and obstacles such as boulders, downed trees, poison ivy and thorn bushes. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes with good traction that can also get wet since the stream is our "trail." Bring a walking stick or we will provide you with one. Yaktrax or similar cleats may be advisable based on slippery conditions. Ages 10 and up with adult. No younger children please. Held rain or shine. Registration required for all participating; a waiver must also be completed. Please no unregistered guests - we cannot accommodate additional people. |
