Description: | Sara Fitzsimmons, Chief Conservation Officer with The American Chestnut Foundation gives an update on restoring The American Chestnut (Castanea dentata) a primary component of eastern Ohio’s forests. In the 1800s a devastating fungal disease all but eliminated the American chestnut from its original range. Researchers and partners across the eastern US, have been on the forefront to restore this species. Presentation in cooperation with the Native Plant Society of Northeastern Ohio. Registration required. |
