But please don't let that stop you from setting your alarm to see what you can see from your yard or window at home! *** Join us at Observatory Park for our lunar eclipse overnight program! In the early hours of April 15, the moon will be completely covered by Earth's shadow. The "total" portion of the eclipse begins at about 3 AM and continues for more than an hour! Details: Moon rises at 8 PM on 4/14. Penumbral ("partial") portion of eclipse begins at 1 AM on 4/15. Umbral portion of eclipse begins at 1:58 AM. "Total" portion of eclipse begins at 3:06 AM. Maximum eclipse at 3:45 AM. "Total" portion of eclipse ends at 4:24 AM. Umbral portion of eclipse ends at 5:33 AM. Penumbral ("partial") portion of eclipse ends at 6:37 AM. |
